AN LÒCHRAN @ 25

25MH CEANN-BLIADHNA!

[Gàidhlig]

Cò shaoil - nuair a fhuair An Lòchran inbhe carthannais bho thùs ann an 2001 - gum biodh an t-ionad fhathast ann 25 bliadhnaichean na b’ anmoiche, ’s e a’ dol bho neart gu neart? 🙂

Ach ’s ann gu bheil sinn fhathast ann, agus airson a’ chlach-mhìle seo a chomharrachadh, chùm sinn pàrtaidh ceann-bliadhna san ionad air Oidhche Luain, an 19mh dhen Fhaoilleach 🎉🥳

’S iomadh rud a bha a’ dol air an oidhche. Bha rafail againn far an deach duaisean leithid leabhraichean Gàidhlig, lèintean-t le grèiseadh Gàidhlig orra, botail uisge-bheatha amsaa. a thoirt seachad. Chuir sinn cuideachd dealbhan air an sgrìn far am facas na diofar thachartasan a bha a’ dol san ionad thar nam bliadhnaichean.

Chùm Andy is Jonathan òraid ghoirid airson facal no dhà a ràdh mu àm a dh’fhalbh is àm ri teachd An Lòchrain. Le cèic mhòr, bhlasta 🎂 agus beagan ciùil air a’ chlàrsaich agus a’ bhogsa - ’s triùir nar measg (Àdhamh, Gille-chrìost agus Andy) a’ gabhail òran no dhà (m.e. Òran na Cloiche agus Sìos dhan Abhainn) - bha an ìre mhath a h-uile càil ann a dh’iarradh tu bho phàrtaidh ceann-bliadhna Gàidhealach 😎 Chì thu AN SEO bhideo beag (bogsa is seinn).

Mòran taing dhan a h-uile duine a thàinig a-steach, gu seachd àraid do Chomunn Oiseanach Oilthigh Ghlaschu a chùm taic dhuinn air an oidhche. Tha sinn fada nur comain, a chàirdean, gu bheil sibh uile a’ frithealadh An Lòchrain airson cànan is cultar na Gàidhlig a chumail a’ dol san 21mh linn - às ur n-aonais, cha bhiodh càil dhe a leithid comasach.

Who knew - when An Lòchran received official charity status in 2001 - that the centre would still be around 25 years later, going from strength to strength? 🙂

But we are indeed still here, and to celebrate this milestone, we held a wee 25th Birthday Party on Monday 19th January 🎉🥳

Lots of different things were occurring on the night. We held a raffle with prizes such as Gaelic books, T-shirts with Gaelic-language embroidery, bottles of whisky, etc. to be won. We also put pictures up on the screen where you could see the different sort of events we’ve been running over the years.

Andy and Jonathan gave a brief speech, saying one or two things about An Lòchran’s past and future. With a big, tasty cake 🎂 and a wee bit o’ music on the harp and accordion, and three of us (Àdhamh, Christopher and Andy) singing a song or two (including a Gaelic rendition of Down in the River to Pray), we pretty much had everything you could want from a Gaelic anniversary party 😎 CLICK HERE for a wee video (accordion and singing).

Thank you very much to everyone who came along, particularly to Comunn Oiseanach Oilthigh Ghlaschu (the Glasgow University Ossianic Society) who supported us on the night. We’re truly grateful to you, our friends, for all your support of An Lòchran and all you do to keep the Gaelic language and culture alive in the 21st Century. Without you, nothing like this would be possible.

Your team (Andy, David, Moira, Jonathan and Max) and the An Lòchran volunteers xx
